"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14
This verse took on a whole new meaning on March 22, 2012. I woke up that morning with a feeling I couldn't shake and decided to take a pregnancy test. I took Dora for a walk and was not at all surprised when we returned to see this...
Scott on the other hand was in shock and needed further confirmation.
We immediately fell in love with the tiny human growing in my belly. Until that moment I never realized it was possible to love someone that was only the size of a sesame seed. I was overwhelmed that God chose us to raise one of His children; a huge honor and blessing.
We were so excited and wanted to tell everyone our news. If left to his own devices Scott would have called everyone he ever met that morning; I, on the other hand, knowing that it was early and anything could happen, wanted to wait. After some convincing Scott agreed we would wait until after my first OB appointment before we shared the news. The next 4 weeks seemed to drag on forever. Finally, on April 19 (Scott's birthday) we both left work early to meet this little one for the first time.

| Our little peanut at 8 weeks |
I was so relieved that everything looked normal and the pregnancy was progressing well. This may have been Scott's favorite birthday present this year. After a celebratory dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings we told family and some friends about our "little peanut."

At 16 weeks we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and I don't think I have ever heard a sweeter sound! I am grateful that so far it has been an easy pregnancy. I am constantly amazed by how my body is growing and changing...in ways I never expected. The idea that we will be parents in a few months is still a little surreal and at times frightening but we could not be more excited or grateful.
And what pregnancy post is complete without a couple of bump pictures.
