In June Scott and I spent a weekend in New York City. This was my first official visit to the Big Apple so we took in as many sites as possible in two days. We had a great time and got to catch up with a dear friend who was gracious enough to provide us a place to stay. Here are some pictures from our trip.
Day 1
First on the itinerary was a quick visit with Lady Liberty. The boat tours were already booked for the day so we took the advice of a native New Yorker (my friend Allison) and took a (free) little ride on the Staten Island Ferry.
Next up was lunch. As we searched for a local eatery we enjoyed a stroll through the Financial District.
After lunch we visited the September 11 Memorial. Words cannot describe the experience. I will never forget watching the plane crash into the second tower and the panic/grief that enveloped the nation that day.

We ended day one at Top of the Rock; the observation deck at Rockefeller Center.
Day 2
After traveling all over the city Day 1 we decided to stay local on the second day. First stop FAO Schwarz. Scott played on the "Big" Piano and we picked up a little something for Baby A.
We spent the afternoon people watching in Central Park and then took in an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
After two full days of sightseeing I was pooped! We saw a lot but there are still so many things I would love to see and experience. Hopefully there will be a return trip in our future. Every time we travel I am reminded of how grateful I am for Scott. He is my favorite traveling buddy and I love experiencing the world with him.
