August Update

I realize I have neglected this blog lately.  I find it difficult to sit down and write when there are so many other things that need to be done.  And to be honest our life is pretty boring right now.  We are entering a season of life when we will have very little free time.  Tomorrow I begin working overtime as the firm tries to finish up tax returns before the September 15 and October 15 filing deadlines.  And this week Scott will begin preparing for his first board exam also known as Step 1.  Please keep us in your prayers as stress levels will be high and we will have less time for ourselves and each other.  Our goal is to somehow find balance.

What's new with us?  Scott completed 5th semester on August 6.  For the past week he has been in a Step 1 review class every day.  The class ends on Tuesday and then he will begin studying 10-12 hours a day on his own.

Two weeks ago we started eating healthier and doing a new workout program called Insanity after our physician told us to lower our triglycerides...yep we both have high triglycerides.  Insanity provides both comic relief at 6am and a challenging workout.  So far we have completed 2 weeks of the 9 week program and can already see results.  The main challenge is getting up an hour earlier every morning to workout before starting the day.

I've been experiencing pain in my back and shoulder since returning to work.  I had the same problem when I lived in Dallas.  I had an MRI 2 weeks ago and finally got the results back.  The diagnosis...inflammation in the rotator cuff and bursitis.  My physician is referring me to an orthopedic surgeon.  According to WebMD a simple steroid injection should relieve the inflammation and pain.  I am grateful to finally know what is going on.

Finally Dora completed her puppy training course yesterday.  She received her diploma and will move on to the intermediate course in 2 weeks.  Here are some pictures from her graduation ceremony.

Proud mom with the graduate.
